Apple's latest version of Final Cut Pro X (FCPX) has caused quite a controversy. Many new features and speed improvements have been added, but many more features are conspicuously missing. In addition, the current version is not backwards compatible with earlier versions. Why is it so different, and what Apple's game plan? Here is the ball.
Older versions of Final Cut Pro emerged available memory to 4 GB programming interface (API), the programs on 32-bit, with the carbon application this limited limited. At a time, where base MacBook Pro with 4 GB memory and dual-core, 64-bit processors, is a serious constraint. Apple's latest API, called cocoa, allows the use of 64-bit architecture, eliminate storage bottlenecks that required a complete rewrite of the Final Cut Pro. Since FCPX is a complete rewrite with cocoa, it can work much faster on current hardware and takes advantage of multicore processors.
FCPX was according to the range of professional features conspicuous lack, likely primarily for speed with plans to add later more features written. It supports data currently no OMF output, which is often used for the mixing of audio in ProTools import or edit decision list (EDL), a function used to move a project to another program for the finishing stage. Multi-support and output to tape, one of many professionals format is also not available. In addition, it seems no plans, release a new version of final cut server, which is used, so that multiple users at the same time working on a project of remote is stored. Multiple video formats including XDCAM and red, have still not support; due to the completely rewritten support for every video format was completely rewritten to be. Updates add, shows missing functions should begin soon, but many professional video editors are, understandably worried that she will be left in the lurch.
All about FCPX is not bad news, however; Apple has added several new, user-friendly features to their favorite video production program. The app contains a new magnetic timeline feature that grouped and allows moving audio, video and effects designer clips without displacement of a project. In addition, FCPX content has auto analysis, which detects the presence of people in the video and close identified, medium and wide angle shots. Compressor 4, companion encoding tool for final cut pro adds additional export functionality, live-streaming support and streamlined library settings. Movement 5, FCPX motion graphics companion, offers smart motion templates, parameter control and editable Final Cut Pro templates.
FCPX is the official replacement of Pro 7, but it has many features of other final cut Studio programs effectively replace the suite with a program included. Can anyone on the Mac app store, Apple's desktop version of their ground-breaking for $49.99 and offer other features provided by the FCPX compressor 4 and motion 5 mobile app platformbe purchased. Retailing at $299.99 in the app store has also completely replaced FCPX Express, the consumer version of Final Cut Pro. Express was $200, with the Pro version costs $1000. Because it is available on the app store, users will be can acquire able, once the software and install their authorized computer it on one.
Apple's overhaul of Final Cut Pro has caused a stir, but is it a while before all features are added, so that it is difficult to draw a definite conclusion so far. Removing express and the reduction in the price displayed to be there somewhere between a consumer and a professional use. Despite the lack of many features that seems used by professional Pro express a great option for someone missing before you create own videos, especially with the new user-friendly tools from Apple are added.
